Mariner News for Monday, April 17, 2019
MANDATORY SENIOR PARENT MEETING
The Senior Parent Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Ivaldi Student Center.
It is mandatory that at least one parent/guardian of each graduating senior attend this meeting.
The evening will include:
– A review of graduation requirements & deadlines
– The introduction and explanation of upcoming senior events
– The conduct of students at these events
– Distribution of graduation tickets
Please note: In order to receive graduation tickets at the Parent Meeting, a parent must attend the entire meeting. All Business Office obligations must be completed, and student Social Justice hour requirements must also be fulfilled to receive tickets.
SENIORS – SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS
Seniors – if you have received a merit based award or scholarship from any of the colleges or universities to which you have applied, and would like that information acknowledged in the graduation program, please provide a list of those awards, along with a photocopy of the letter you received, to Mrs. Capurro by Wednesday, April 17, 2019.
Please indicate which of the awards you have accepted. Your list should be prioritized in case of space limitations in the graduation program. Scholarships and awards based on merit from businesses or other organizations may also be submitted. Please note: All awards and scholarships must also be indicated on your post-graduate survey on Naviance.
All awards/scholarships must be submitted to Mrs. Capurro by Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in order to be included in the graduation program.
Are you interested in exploring careers in medicine? If so, Camp Cardiac is a one week program for high school students to learn more. Please visit http://www.campcardiac.org/san-francisco-ca.html to learn more and apply for Summer 2019. Applications are due May 10. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, the application is due earlier.

Rutgers University–New Brunswick is excited to announce an opportunity for students interested in engineering. The Rutgers School of Engineering is offering the chance for students to participate in a new Pre-Engineering Summer Academy to develop their knowledge and skills through real-world field experiences.
This intensive one-week certificate program will introduce students to a variety of engineering areas including:
Eligible students must:
- Be between the ages of 16-18
- Have prior coursework in pre-calculus (recommended)
- Submit anonline application by May 18!

HAYWARD YOUTH COMMISSION
Join the Hayward Youth Commission to advise the City Council, the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District and the Hayward Unified School District about issues that affect young people in the community. If you are a resident of Hayward or live in the Hayward Unified School District and are between 13 and 20 years old, you are eligible to apply: Hayward Youth Commission

Under one roof, hear the voices inviting you into our home and hearts! Through music, Chorus, Honor Choir, Solos, and guest artists will explore themes on home and family.

HAYWARD’S ANNUAL CITYWIDE CLEAN UP & COMMUNITY FAIR
Join in Hayward’s 36th Annual Citywide Clean Up & Community Fair on April 27, 2019!
