Mock Trial Camp 2021
Apply to join us for a week-long introduction to Mock Trial! Students will experience the excitement and demands of the courtroom — thinking on their feet, speaking in front of an audience — and everyone will either play the role of an attorney, witness, bailiff or clerk. Students will be able to work with members of the Moreau Catholic Mock Trial team, winners of the 2019 Alameda County Philip A. Harley Memorial Mock Trial Championship! The week will also include a visit to the Hayward Hall of Justice where students will see a real courtroom and our legal system in action. The camp will culminate with a mock trial, put on by the students and open for family and friends to attend as jurors and audience members.
The program runs July 12th-16th from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. for $150.
Applicants must be entering 7th through 9th grade for the 2020-2021 school year.
NOTE: Applicants will be notified of their acceptance to the program shortly after receipt of the application and provided with information about registration at that time. Payment will be due at the time of registration. Due to the limited number of roles in the trial, the camp will be limited to 19 students.
Fe Maravilla Scholarship Opportunity
Fe (Villamonte) Maravilla (’78) cherished her community. She showed this by sharing her genuine joy with others in everything they did. Her support for others was unwavering and ever enthusiastic. She celebrated intellectual curiosity and encouraged everyone to learn, read, and challenge the status quo. It is in her honor that the Fe Maravilla Memorial Mock Trial Scholarship was established. Scholarships are awarded to students who share the same qualities as Fe: courage, inquisitiveness, and a generous spirit.
If you are interested in being considered for this special scholarship, please email Glen Davis at email@example.com. The scholarship committee will contact you to set up an interview. Thank you.
