Moreau Catholic High School’s collection development policy is shaped by the words of our namesake, Blessed Basil Moreau (1849): “We can state in a word the kind of teaching we wish to impart: we do not want our students to be ignorant of anything they should know.” The collection is developed to align with curricular needs and individual reading interests/levels, providing students with a breadth of materials that offer students many opportunities for discovery, as well as a diverse collection representative of a variety of views. We believe that access to books develops better readers and critical thinkers and we know enjoyment of reading contributes to lifelong learning.
