Moreau’s second annual TEDx event, TEDxMoreauCatholicHS, is scheduled for Feb. 27 in Teves Theatre. This year’s theme is Rise Up!

“The student talks will be compelling and inspirational,” Moreau’s TEDx coordinator and social justice teacher Mary McInerney said. “Our students have powerful ideas to share with the world, and TEDx is a great platform for them to share those voices.”

This year’s guest speaker will be Derek Rhodes from the Obama Foundation – My Brother’s Keeper initiative. There will be 18 Moreau students speaking on compelling topics that range from “How to work across the aisle to heal America’s political divisions” to “You cannot define me: trans people today” to “Immigrants of today are a brighter future for tomorrow.”
