Moreau Catholic will host its 11th annual Funding Hopes and Dreams Dinner and Auction on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Fremont Marriott Silicon Valley. This yearly event raises funds for our Trust for Student Support program, which helps 36% of our students afford this world-class, Holy Cross, college prep education.
This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Lauren (Clark) Lek ’97, has been a Catholic high school leader and visionary for over 20 years. She currently serves as the Head of School at the oldest high school in San Diego. After graduating from Moreau Catholic High School in 1997, Dr. Lek pursued her bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego, received an M.A. in Educational Leadership from St. Mary’s College of California, and an Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership from Pepperdine University. Over the years she has been recognized with awards such as the CEO of the Year, a Woman who Means Business, 40 under 40, and the Athena Pinnacle Award in Education. She served in many roles at Moreau Catholic from 2006 to 2013 including teacher, Director of Admissions, AP of Instruction, and Principal.
Student speaker, Aidan Arnold-Galati ’20, is extremely dedicated to Moreau Catholic’s Mock Trial team, which has taken him to competitions in New York, Atlanta, and Newport Beach as an attorney. The Mock Trial team recently placed 8th out of 300 teams at the California State Finals. He is also a member of the Moreau Catholic’s Social Justice Leadership Team and started a project called “Ending Injustice” that focuses on educating others about the urgent public defender crisis.
