Varsity Softball took a big step toward a league title with 3 wins last week.
First they faced Mission San Jose defeating them 12-0 behind the pitching of Kate Heuser ’22 who also had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s.
Next up was Logan, Perennial league champion. Ella Murchison ’22 led off the game with a triple, then scored on a wild pitch. The Mariners added 2 more runs and behind the 1 hit, 9 strike out performance by Reesah Baker ’20 the team defeated the Colts, 3-0.
Finally, in a wind storm, the Mariners faced American, who was tied atop the standings with Moreau. Reesah pitched a 15 strike out, NO HITTER, and Gabi Perez ’19, Janessa Khamseh ’19, and Leila Velasquez ’20 had multi hit games, and Analeese Farias-Rios ’19 notched up two big RBI’s to seal the 4-0 win.
The Mariners are now tied at the top of the standings with Newark Memorial who they face Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Larry Standley field at 6:00 PM. GO MARINERS!
